Inch

In the business landscape of 2017, U.S. companies were tossing over a billion dollars into employee feedback programs. Surprisingly, despite this considerable investment, a whopping 65% of employees expressed dissatisfaction, citing a lack of adequate feedback for personal and professional growth. To remedy this, Inch was conceived by venture studio 19days with the noble mission of enabling individuals to receive feedback from the right people, at the right time, and in the right way.

Project Objectives:

Inch had a simple yet impactful goal: to create an application that significantly improved both the quantity and quality of feedback within organizations. A crucial aspect of this initiative involved linking feedback to specific situations, such as meetings or interpersonal moments, and using low-barrier, high-impact questions to prompt valuable insights.

Project Phases:

1. Brand Sprint (1 Day):

The project commenced with a one-day brand sprint, where the focus was on crafting a compelling identity for Inch. The team successfully developed a language that portrayed Inch in an authentic and radical light, setting the tone for the product's personality.

2. Product Development Sprint (1 Week):

Following the brand sprint, the product team embarked on a one-week sprint to explore initial product ideas, evaluate various solutions, and design a comprehensive user experience. By the end of the week, full-fidelity designs were in place, and technical setup had commenced.

3. Engineering (2 Weeks):

The project seamlessly transitioned into the engineering phase, where the team diligently worked to bring the vision to life. Within two weeks, a functional Minimum Viable Product (MVP) emerged, ready for alpha testing. The MVP boasted features such as calendar integration, configurable competency models, and guided feedback flows.

Key Features of Inch:

  • Calendar Integration: Inch seamlessly integrates with users' calendars, ensuring timely prompts for feedback after specific events or meetings.
  • Configurable Competency Models: Organizations can tailor feedback categories to align with their unique competency models, ensuring relevance and specificity.
  • Guided Feedback Flows: Inch employs low-barrier, high-impact questions to prompt meaningful feedback, making the process both effortless and valuable.

Conclusion:

Inch, crafted and developed by 19days, effectively addresses the gap in employee feedback experienced by many organizations. By focusing on specific situations and adopting a user-friendly approach to feedback, Inch aims to revolutionize the way organizations foster growth and development within their teams. The swift progression from ideation to a functional MVP showcases the dedication and efficiency of the Inch team, delivering a product poised to make a significant impact on employee engagement and professional advancement.
